At One with Nature: Living by the Moon, the Stars, and the True Rhythm of Time
Lately, I’ve been feeling a deeper pull—
A calling to return even more fully to nature’s rhythm.
To the ancient cycles that guided our ancestors long before digital calendars and mechanical clocks told us how to live.
Nature has always held the blueprint.
The moon, the planets, the Earth's pulse—they all move in perfect, effortless cycles.
And we are part of those cycles, whether we remember it or not.
🌙 The Moon and the Planets: Cosmic Reminders of Connection
Recently, the skies gave us a gift—a smiley face moon formed by the crescent moon and two bright planets (Venus and Jupiter), positioned like cosmic eyes and a joyful mouth.
It was breathtaking.
A reminder from the Universe:
There is magic above us and within us, always.
The smiley face moon wasn't just cute.
It was a reflection of the playfulness and joy embedded in creation itself.
A call to lift our eyes, lift our hearts, and remember that we are part of something infinite and beautiful.
When we reconnect with the sky—when we tune into the moon’s phases, the dance of the planets—we begin to remember the natural language of the Universe.
The one that speaks not in words, but in rhythm. In light. In energy.
🌀 Living by Natural Time: The 13-Month, 28-Day Cycle
Modern society conditions us to live by the Gregorian calendar—12 uneven months, 30 or 31 days here, 28 there, with random leap years to "fix" the math.
But there is an older, purer system:
A year divided into 13 months of 28 days each, perfectly aligned with the cycles of the moon.
This system, often referred to through ancient and Indigenous wisdom (and celebrated in the Mayan and natural timekeeping traditions), honors the real pulse of nature.
13 months × 28 days = 364 days
Plus 1 Intercalary Day—the Day Out of Time—a sacred pause, a day outside the calendar for reflection, celebration, and resetting.
Imagine living where every month is a full, complete cycle—rising, cresting, falling, resting—just like the phases of the moon.
Imagine a world where time itself feels harmonious, regenerative, aligned.
This is the rhythm we were meant to live by.
A rhythm that honors our bodies, our emotions, our dreams, our connection to the Earth and cosmos.
🌱 Returning to the Flow of Nature
When we sync our lives with the cycles of the Earth and sky:
We feel more grounded in our bodies.
We flow with life instead of fighting against it.
We honor our natural highs and lows—waxing and waning like the moon.
We awaken intuition, creativity, and inner knowing.
Nature doesn't rush.
The moon doesn't worry about whether it's "productive" enough.
The planets don't apologize for their orbits.
They just are.
And when we remember we are part of that same web, we stop striving and start being.
We start living again.
🌕 How to Start Living in Natural Time
Observe the moon cycles: Notice when you feel energized (waxing moon) and when you feel introspective (waning moon).
Honor your inner seasons: Just like the Earth cycles through spring, summer, autumn, winter—so do you.
Celebrate Intercalary Day: Take a sacred day each year to pause, reflect, celebrate your journey, and set your intentions anew.
Plant your intentions: Just as farmers once planted by the moon, you can align your manifestations with cosmic timing.
Spend time in nature barefoot: Ground your energy into the Earth. Feel the charge of life moving through you.
✨ The Time to Remember is Now
The Earth is calling us back.
The sky is sending messages.
The old rhythms are rising again in our blood and bones.
This isn't just about nostalgia for a simpler time.
It's about reclaiming the sacred wisdom that was always ours.
It's about remembering that we are nature,
We are the moon,
We are the pulse of life,
We are cosmic beings dancing through a living, breathing Universe.
And it's time to live like it.
