Don’t Let It In — Protecting Your Inner Waters
There’s a quote that has always stayed with me:
“Ships don’t sink because of the water around them. Ships sink because of the water that gets in them.”
Simple, but powerful. And like all good truth, it hits deeper the more you sit with it.
We live in a world that’s always moving, shifting, crashing in waves. Chaos, conflict, fear, noise—it’s all swirling out there. But just because it surrounds you doesn’t mean it has to get in you. What sinks a ship is not the ocean. It’s the leak. It’s what you let in.
Your Inner World Is Sacred
There’s an inner stillness, a knowing, a sacred space within you that the world can’t touch unless you open the door. That’s where your power lives. That’s where your truth speaks.
I say: trust in the flow. Trust in the guidance from within. Trust that everything is happening rightly and properly—with Divine guidance.
When life gets loud or heavy, when things on the outside feel uncertain, overwhelming, or confusing, that’s the moment to go inward. That’s the moment to check your waters.
Is something trying to seep in that doesn’t belong?
Let It Flow Through, Not Stick Inside
Nothing in this world is permanent. Not joy, not pain, not even problems. Everything is energy in motion. But it’s when we try to hold on, grasp, resist, or over-identify with the storm around us—that’s when we start to sink.
Most of what lingers in our spirit was meant to flow through, not take root.
Let that sink in: What lingers is what we hold onto.
We replay conversations. We rehearse pain. We turn passing moments into monuments. But if we could pause and observe instead of absorb, we’d realize the lesson often comes with the very thing we’re trying to escape.
What if you let life move through you instead of into you?
See It, Feel It, Release It
Try this the next time something triggers or overwhelms you:
View what’s happening without making it mean something about who you are.
You’re not your circumstance. You’re the witness to it.Ask: What did this come to show me?
About myself? About my beliefs? About something I’m ready to shift?Let it pass.
Just like a wave. Just like weather. Let it rise, and let it roll on.
This is the difference between drowning in emotion and flowing with life.
Rightly and Properly, Always
Everything that happens—every encounter, delay, detour, or storm—has a message, a mirror, or a moment of awakening tucked inside.
When you trust that it’s all happening rightly and properly, you stop fighting the current. You stop leaking energy trying to control it. You start flowing with it. You listen more deeply to your inner guidance. And that guidance will never weigh you down. It will always lift you.
You are not a ship built to sink.
You are a vessel built to carry wisdom across oceans.
Keep your inner space dry, sacred, and protected.
Closing Thought
So the next time life gets noisy, when it feels like you’re surrounded by the storm—remember:
The water around you can’t sink you. Only what you let in can.
Choose presence over panic.
Choose observation over absorption.
Choose trust over fear.
Let the water flow around you, not in you.
Let it all happen rightly and properly.
