The Three Shaktis – Will, Wisdom, and Action in Divine Union

In the ancient teachings of yogic and tantric wisdom, there is a sacred triad of energies—Iccha Shakti, Jnana Shakti, and Kriya Shakti—that pulse at the heart of all creation. These three forms of Shakti, or divine feminine power, are not just abstract concepts. They are living forces, energetic blueprints within each of us, dancing together to create, sustain, and transform the universe.

When we align with these powers within ourselves, we unlock a sacred synergy that brings our desires into form, grounds our purpose, and lifts us into deeper levels of wisdom and embodiment.

1. Iccha Shakti – The Power of Will and Desire

Iccha means "will" or "desire." This is the seed of creation—the spark that ignites everything. It's not the fleeting craving of the ego, but the deep soul desire that arises from the heart. This is your longing to grow, to evolve, to express your purpose.

Iccha Shakti is the Divine Feminine in her dreaming, envisioning state. She is the desire of the universe to know itself through you.

In your own life, Iccha Shakti is felt as the urge to move toward your highest calling, the inner nudge that won’t leave you alone, the dreams that keep returning until you finally say yes.

Without Iccha Shakti, there is no fuel. Nothing moves. It is the first movement in the dance of manifestation.

2. Jnana Shakti – The Power of Knowledge and Insight

Jnana means "knowledge," but this isn’t just book learning or data. This is wisdom—the kind that sits in the bones, that arises from deep silence and knowing.

Jnana Shakti is the intelligence of the universe. It’s the roadmap, the awareness, the cosmic GPS that shows you where to go once you’ve said yes to the call of your Iccha.

In your life, Jnana Shakti shows up as intuition, clarity, discernment, and sometimes as a gut feeling that guides you toward (or away from) a certain path.

This Shakti is what helps you understand the energy behind what you’re doing. Without it, you might act impulsively, or move forward with a desire that lacks spiritual alignment.

3. Kriya Shakti – The Power of Action and Manifestation

Kriya means "action"—but not just any action. This is divinely inspired, aligned, sacred action.

Kriya Shakti is the energy that moves things from the ether into the earth. It’s the force that helps you build the dream, take the step, speak the truth, create the art, write the book, or start the movement.

Kriya Shakti is the force of actualization. Without it, intentions and visions remain in the realm of thought. It is the doing, the becoming, the execution of aligned will.

When the Three Shaktis Work Together

Imagine a river flowing:

  • Iccha Shakti is the source of the river—the spring bubbling from the mountain, the why.

  • Jnana Shakti is the course of the river—the knowing of where it needs to go, the how.

  • Kriya Shakti is the actual flowing of the water—the movement, the what.

When these three are in harmony, manifestation becomes natural, graceful, and divinely supported. You don’t have to force or struggle. You align, listen, and act.

Together, these Shaktis form the full circuit of manifestation—from desire, to insight, to action.

Activating the Three Shaktis with Mantra

To call in these divine energies and awaken them within you, a powerful mantra can be chanted:

OM ICCHA SHAKTI JNANA SHAKTI KRIYA SHAKTI SWARUPINYEI NAMAHA

Translation: Salutations to the embodiment of Will, Knowledge, and Action Shakti.

This mantra is traditionally chanted 108 times, using a mala with 108 beads, as part of a meditative practice. It’s not just a chant—it’s a recalibration of your energy system, aligning your inner will, wisdom, and power with the universal flow.

As you chant:

  • Focus on your desires and what your soul is asking for (Iccha Shakti),

  • Ask for divine clarity and wisdom to guide your way (Jnana Shakti),

  • And summon the courage and momentum to move forward (Kriya Shakti).

You are not separate from creation—you are a spark of it. The same divine energy that births galaxies moves through you. When you awaken and balance Iccha Shakti, Jnana Shakti, and Kriya Shakti, you become a conscious co-creator with the universe.

This is the sacred dance of Shakti. This is the power that shapes worlds. This is you, remembered.

Chant the mantra. Light a candle. Say yes to your divine will. Let your actions ripple with wisdom. Let your life be a living prayer.
