True Friends Are Like Stars: Shining Through the Darkness
I read a quote today from Bob Marley that hit me deep in my spirit:
"True friends are like stars; you can only recognize them when it’s dark around you."
Yes. That’s it.
This is one of those truths that settles into your bones when life gets heavy—when the nights feel long, and the path ahead is hard to see.
It’s in those dark moments that the real ones show up.
Not to fix it.
Not to carry you.
But to shine—to light the way, or just to be beside you while you walk through the storm.
💫 Some Come Quickly, Some Stay Forever
Life has a way of bringing people in just when we need them—even if they’re only meant to stay for a moment.
Some arrive and exit like a passing breeze.
They might offer one sentence, one smile, one hard truth that jolts you into awakening.
And then they’re gone.
But you’re never the same.
Others?
They stay.
They hold space for your healing.
They dance with you in your joy and kneel with you in your grief.
They are the ones you don’t even have to call—they just know.
👑 My Sacred Circle
I’m grateful—deeply—for three women in my life who I know will be with me forever.
One of them is my wife.
She is my rock, my mirror, my soft place to land.
The other two are my soul sisters—wise, powerful, endlessly loving.
Each of them brings something different to my life:
One grounds me.
One challenges me.
One sees me when I forget myself.
They don’t all speak the same way, love the same way, or walk the same way—but their presence is holy.
🌕 Women as Wisdom Keepers
In ancient times, women were the priests. The midwives. The mystics. The sacred storytellers.
They held the wisdom of the Earth, the stars, and the womb.
They still do.
That’s why I say without hesitation:
Female friends are the best friends.
They carry medicine.
They hold you in ways that heal beyond words.
They see things others don’t.
They remember things we’ve all forgotten.
And when the darkness comes, they shine like the original stars they’ve always been.
🌀 You Are Never the Same After Love Like That
Whether someone stays forever or only for a season, real friendship changes you.
It expands you.
It shows you a deeper truth of yourself.
It teaches you how to show up in the world—softer, wiser, stronger, more free.
If you have a friend like that, hold them close.
Tell them thank you.
And be the kind of light for others that they were for you.
